What is a HydraFacial? How does it work and what can it be used for?
The HydraFacial is one of the latest technological breakthroughs in aesthetic medicine. Not only does it exfoliate and remove dead skin, it cleanses, hydrates and nourishes the skin by combining the use of nourishing serums, chemical peels, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid etc. all at once. The HydraFacial can be used to improve one’s skin tone, reduce wrinkles, control acne outbreaks and hydrate skin.
Day of treatment
The HydraFacial requires around 30-60 minutes of treatment and involves a 4-step process: (1) cleansing and exfoliation with serum to remove dead skin cells and expose underlying healthy skin, (2) a gentle chemical peel without shedding of skin seen in typical peels to unclog pores, (3) application of a vaccum-suction tip to mechanically extract and clean out impurities from pores, and (4) direct delivery of ingredients (e.g. antioxidants, proteins, hyaluronic acid) vital for healthy, glowing skin to areas that have been cleansed in the first 3 steps.
What to expect and further treatment
There is no downtime and patients feel much refreshed immediately. Combined with an appropriate skin care regimen, results can usually last for up to a week or more. Compared to other forms of treatment, the Hydrafacial is fast, safe for all skin types.
